I’ve been working on a new look and feel. Something a little more sparse then before. Something I think, I’d like to stick with for a bit ( but who knows, I could get the itch again). For those reading this through a feed, please come on by. Here’s the run down of new-ities

Simplified Categories - I’ve dumbed down the categories. Just 3 should do: create, think & share. Oh ya, and a general. I wasn’t known for having large number of categories, but I think the big 3 should do. I’ve kept the archives with their previous categories so anyone with bookmarks, you’re still good. It’s a moving forward thing.

Feedburner RSS - I’m getting on the bandwagon. Who’s reading through my feed? It might be because of the google acquisition, or maybe all the hype simply reminded me “oh ya, I wanted to switch to them.” Anyway, if you are viewing from a feed, please switch the URL to http://feeds.feedburner.com/whoisnick.

Feedburner Email Subscriptions - For those who are emailed my posts through the wordpress subscription. I found the feedburner also can help with that too. I though it best to use them for that as well, so please, if You’ve subscribed via email, get an email subscription through feedburner.

Facebook Status - I’ve tied into facebook, I can now use my addiction to let the world know what I’m doing.

Various Pages - About Page, Archive Page, Contact Page? I’m actually creating pages other then posts? I didn’t think I would, but I’m thinking it would be nice. Hopefully soon, I’ll add on a portfolio page, I do do contract work, hint hint….

Well, that’s it for now. I might add more fun later.

Although I watch a lot of movies, I don’t necessarily have the time to sit down and critique them. So, I’m stopping that sub site, and bringing them into my main blog, hence my additional of adding ratings. I can now, put up a simple post. When the time or inspiration strikes, I might expand, but now, I don’t feel that I need to.

I think they are Awesome. Which Is why I’m adding them to my site.

I’ve heard a rumour that some people don’t use a news aggregator like Google Reader. RSS might as well sand for “Really it’s Somthing Strange”. And for those of you who come by once in a while hoping for something new and heart broken to see the same post as before, I send my apologies your way. But I’m not one just to say sorry and forget about it. I like to correct the problem. I’ve added the ability to subscribe to my blog. No longer do you need to pop by and hope. If you sign up, I’ll send you an email and let you know I’ve made a change. Think of it like an invitation for Pie or Coffee.

The festivus and gathering are quiet. I’ve somehow ended up in the office working away through the candy hangover. Why I’m supposed to be in the office for the next three days is a mystery however, the lack of people make it for nice catch-up time. I’m able to do all the dreaded paperwork and documentation and as an added bonus, I’ve been able to sneak in an upgrade of my site from Wordpress 1.5 to the new and flashy 2.0, yeah!

And now back to our quieter then normal programming…

I’ve added a link to my friends in the side bar: Robots Hate Cancer. Reason being my friend Daniel, has a good friend of his going through this battle against cancer. And the site has been set up for 2 things. 1 - It’s a great way to get out there the perspective of our generation the (20s-30s) going through this ordeal. 2 - It ain’t cheap, so they are using it as a platform to raise money.

In our brief conversation earlier today, an interesting thought came up on the necessary mind set that is needed. It’s the survival, the necessity to fight. as they are saying in the site, “we can do more than wear our stylish bracelets.” Just looking at the site shows this. It’s more like !#$& YOU CANCER! And I think that’s the best and most powerful mind set to have. So I post this article not out of “poor poor” person with cancer, but more like FNA! Let’s all give cancer the finger while we burn it to hell with lasers shooting from our eyes.

Like the music page, I’ve killed the poetry page. It really should be something more blog like.

I like the idea of having pages in WordPress, although, I’m not seeing any traffic to these. Probably because according to the stats, most of you are reading through my various feeds. So, if you’ve had the pleasure of hearing my stuff, great. If not, then feel free to take a listen through the next few posts.

Just becuase I’m thinking it, or typing it doesn’t mean that it should be published right away. ( oh! gasp! really??) Nope. So, what I’m going to play with over the next little while is using some of the features that have been put in wordpress, for they were designed for. Who knew? I’m going to use the time stamp…( oh! gasp! )…and the “draft” ( more gasping and maybe a couple of murmurs ). Matter of fact I’ve already started…this post alone was actually entered in 2 days ago, but didn’t show up till now ( ooo! aaah!).
